Underneath my L'Oreal...

"For more than a century, we have devoted our energy and our competencies solely to one business: beauty. It is a business rich in meaning, as it enables all individuals to express their personalities, gain self-confidence and open up to others.
Beauty is a language."  www.loreal.com

I won't deny this, I love make up.  I can sit in front of the different shades of red lipstick for hours, never mind choosing the right shade of eye shadow for the dress I'm wearing to a special event.  I'm not sure where this love came from as my mom hates makes up, like HATES IT and I simply can't live without it.

If you are anything like me- you get it.  It just makes you feel good.  If you aren't anything like me-you don't get it, why add extra?  I'm not saying that the Alicia Keys way is wrong, I'm saying why do we always have to label a RIGHT or WRONG.  Can't we just let everyone be who they are? If you want to go natural, do it, be proud of you, celebrate you.  If you don't feel comfortable, going out without a bit of makeup, get up, put your foundation on and mascara and walk out the door feeling good about yourself, if you need to be OSCAR ready every damn day before you see another human being, DO IT, be proud of you, embrace you.  For me, I'm just me, with full OSCAR make up on and underneath my L'Oreal.

Why do we feel like our way of doing things is always right?  Why do we judge by our standards by what we like by what we would have done?  Yes, I'm talking about makeup on this blog but, this can be applied to any and all circumstances where there seem to be an open invitation to judge others.  I'M SIMPLY DONE WITH IT.  I choose to live my life the way I do.  I choose to make the decisions and to live with the consequences.  I choose to wear a darker shade of plum on a hot spring day though I know it's meant for WINTER SEASON.  I'll wear it proud, I'll reapply and if you look at me puzzled and wonder if I know it's a winter shade, the answer is YES, but as L'Oreal said make "it enables all individuals to express their personalities".  I don't follow the rules, I follow my HEART.
